The President of the Spanish government, Pedro Sánchez, expressed, on Monday, April 28, his bright gratitude to Morocco and France, whose assistance made it possible to partially restore the power supply in several provinces of Spain, affected by a generalized interruption of the network.
In a television statement, Pedro Sánchez praised the “Acting solidarity” of the two friendly countries, adding that “Electric interconnections with France and Morocco” played a decisive role in the progressive restoration of the current, after a failure which occurred at 10:30 am, universal time, affecting the entire Iberian Peninsula.
The head of the Spanish executive wanted to thank “warmly” Rabat and Paris for their fraternal competition, while stressing that“No conclusive information” was not at this stage available as to the causes of this large -scale incident.
The Government has summoned a crisis unit to coordinate recovery operations, which the Spanish electrical network manager (REE) plans to complete within six to ten hours.
