On this first Monday of the month, “La Matinale” is no exception to tradition: this is a literary outing that we offer, a novel signed Pierre-François Chatton, retired journalist installed in Delémont. In “Concessions”, published by ISCA-Livres editions last March, the reader can follow the young cook Ferdinand and Karl, a young architect, and Lausanne voyage in China, from Munich to Russia. The author unrolled “a ball of wool”, to achieve “a gallery of characters”. The heroes evolve during the two world wars and through their meetings, loves and concessions, it is also the international news of the time that was revealed. “As a journalist, I was interested in immediate history. Having taken a step back, I am more interested in past history and I want to share it, ”explains Pierre-François Chatton. Historical personalities of the Jura Arc, like Le Corbusier, meet his fictional characters. “It is first of all a research work, a year of historical research, and, when I believe I have enough material, I start to write,” adds the author. “It’s a novel, you have to have fun reading it, and if you can learn two or three little things in passing, it’s not bad,” says Pierre-François Chatton whose book will be varnished this Wednesday evening at 8 p.m. at the Farb in Delémont. /MMI
