Esteban Ocon appreciates the Miami Grand Prix, and he will also wear a special helmet this weekend. But above all, the Haas F1 driver participates for the first time in a race in the United States by being part of an American team, and he recognizes that it is a particular feeling.
“It’s great to experience this, it’s a nice addition to the calendar. If you told us a few years ago that we would run in Miami, we would have been very excited, and here we are, to come every year” said Ocon.
“This is the first home race of the team. It’s good, we started the week by seeing some of our partners, but we stay focused on running, we’re there for that, and I can’t wait to take the wheel” Continues the Frenchman, who knows that being immediately in the bath will be crucial for the whole weekend.
“It is important to be immediately ready and in the rhythm because we have little time to improve the car, only one session. These sprint weekends are difficult, as we know, but it is good to have had a week to better understand the hat-trick that we had, and be able to understand the important subjects.”
-Oliver Bearman knows that he will have a lot to do this weekend, since he discovers the circuit and will have to prepare a weekend of sprint. Nevertheless, the young Briton is satisfied with his season so far and that puts him in confidence.
“This is my first time here for the race, it’s an interesting paddock and I can’t wait to run here” said Bearman. “It’s a sprint, it’s still a new circuit for me, but it went well in China. It seems that we are able to be quickly in the rhythm during sprint weekends.”
“I can’t wait to pilot here, the hat-trick went well for us overall, the weekend was a little more uneven in Saudi Arabia but we learned a lot about the car, so we will see what we can do this weekend.”
