
After four days of commemorations, the traditional mass at the Westminster Abbey marked the end of the festivities.
The British royal family, gathered around King Charles III, celebrated the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day, in homage to the heroes of the Second World War. This Thursday was a solemn mass at the Westminster Abbey, after four days of intense commemorations marking the end of the festivities. The sovereign, accompanied by Queen Camilla, his son Prince William and his daughter-in-law, Kate Middleton, paid tribute to the veterans of the Second World War as well as to the disappeared.
Under the majestic vaults of the abbey, political figures, representatives of the armed forces and members of the royal family also took place, including British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and his wife Victoria. This ceremony follows several days of festivities, therefore, punctuated by military parades, outdoor concerts and historical stories projected on the facade of the Buckingham Palace.
