Several students in Quebec are preparing to strike against the new measure which will prohibit them from using their cell phone at school from the start of the 2025 school year.
Many videos have appeared on the Tiktok platform to invite students from all over Quebec to demonstrate their dissatisfaction on Friday while staying at home.
In a video shared on an account called “Quebecois” on this same social network, a young person in high school invites young people to strike by stressing that “much more serious problems should be addressed” by the Quebec government.

The video aroused several reactions, it was loved more than 26,340 times, gathered more than 2,350 comments, in addition to having started 18,920 times when writing these lines.
-Quickly, the influencer Brendan Mikan followed by more than 146,000 people on Tiktok and 141,000 people on Instagram responded to the video by mentioning “I think the fact that you manifest for your phones proves that it is a problem”.

Several young people have already confirmed that they would not go to school this Friday, while others mention that this strike is exaggerated.
Petitions against this new measure which will come into force in the fall of 2025 have already been circulating on social networks since last Thursday. To date, one of them already has more than 16,800 signatures.
