A team of law enforcement agents in the environment proceeded on April 30 to an operation at the City Hall of Sainte-Catherine, confirms Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC).

ECCC, however, has no other information to provide on this operation, in order to protect “the integrity of law application processes”.

According to the city of Sainte-Catherine, the director , Marie-Josée Halpin, was maintained with the law enforcement agents to “an alleged offense” of the 2008-47 regulation concerning water sanitation by the company Terrapure.

The city is currently in dispute with terraapure concerning this situation and Ms. Halpin would have answered questions from the agents and collaborated “fully” in their approach.

The reflection contacted the Terrapure company, without return.

This company strives “continually to find ways to recover and upgrade the different components of the end -of -life batteries,” says terrapure on its website.

More details to come.
