After China this year, it will be Canada’s turn next year to be the star country of the Grande Tourist fair of Isla Grande.
The Cuba International tourism Fair (Fitcuba 2025), including 44e Edition ended last week, will be in the guest country in Canada next year.
The announcement was made by the Cuban minister of Tourism, Juan Carlos García Granda, during the closure of this flagship event of the Cuban tourism industry.
This next meeting, which will take place again in Varadero, will be centered on the “sun and beach” product, like what travelers of the main issuing market of the island-Canada are looking for.
Success for Fitcuba 2025
LORS of the Fitcuba 2025 closing ceremony, the Cuban Minister of Tourism also underlined the success of the event held at the Morro-Cababaña complex.
-Recall that for the occasion, more than 1,500 foreign professionals participated in the fair, including travel agents, 24 educational groups and representatives of the international press from 58 countries, in addition to 2573 Cuban professionals.
Restructure Cuban tourism
In statements prior to the press, García Granda mentioned a set of measures aimed at the “restructuring of Cuban tourism” announced in the framework of Fitcuba 2025. “We grant much more management powers to businesses, by placing them in a higher competitive position thanks to the control of their income,” he explained.
“We have integrated, in the management models, the rental of hotel facilities, which will have a very positive influence”, he continued before specifying that, in certain areas, we had “removed hierarchical structures which limited management at the local level”.
“As we know, foreign investment, joint ventures and hotels under management have total autonomy, to recall the minister. We are talking here about part of the extrahôtelier network, which we want to see its role playing as in previous years. »»
As by the past years, Fitcuba 2025 was a framework conducive to the creation of alliances, the promotion of exchanges, the exploration of opportunities and the sharing of new products from the sector between travel agencies, tour operators, companies and suppliers interested in the Cuba destination.
