The 66 -year -old woman, from Jackson in Mississippi, recently spent six seasons with Georgia Tech University, leading the Yellow Jackets to three participations in the NCAA tournament before announcing her earlier this year.

His hiring occurs while 25 players have already been selected to represent the country at the FIBA ​​Women’s Basketball World Cup in 2026. Canada finished fourth in this tournament in 2022, and will bet on a nucleus of younger players, after the retirement of several experienced players.

The Canadian team will also participate in the FIBA ​​AMERICUP this summer, and will participate in a training camp in Victoria, British Columbia, this fall.
