The Thriller “September 5” by Swiss director Tim Fehlbaum on the 1972 Olympic attack in Munich was awarded the Lola d’Or during the German film Prize (Deutscher Filmpreis), the German Cinema Academy in Berlin announced on Friday.

“September 5” won nine prizes in total, including that of the best second female role for Leonie Benesch. The scenario, the realization and the assembly were also rewarded. Tim Fehlbaum’s film was in the running with ten nominations.

Misagh Zare was voted best actor for “the seeds of the sacred fig tree”. Sam Riley, who had been named twice in this category (“Cranko” and “Islands”), left empty -handed.
Alexander Scheer, despite a double nomination as a best actor in a supporting role (“Köln 75” and “In Liebe, Eure Hilde”), also lacked a reward. It was Godehard Giese who won the prize for “Sad Jokes”. Liv Lisa Fries received a prize for the best main female role. She embodies in the film “In Liebe, Eure Hilde” the Nazi resistance fighter Hilde Coppi (1909-1943).
The German film Prize is one of the most important awards in the branch. 1,700 guests were invited to the ceremony at Theater Am Potsdamer Platz in Berlin, including the new Minister of State for Culture Wolfram Weimer.
