After having gathered on average 4.2 million viewers during its season 13, murders in paradise is preparing to make its comeback this Monday, May 5, 2025 at 9:10 p.m. on France 2. And this 14th season looks already full of twists and turns
A new face in Sainte-Marie
Last December, viewers met Mervin Wilson (Don Vilet), the successor to Inspector Neville Parker.
The latter, embodied by Ralf Little, left the series at the end of season 13 after several years of good and loyal service. In the Breakfast show on the BBC channel, Ralf Little explained on this subject, “I had this feeling that the story of my character was finished in the series. His adventure deserved to find his conclusion. He deserved to have a happy ending and that’s what happened“.
A season 14 full of mysteries … and tensions
If he thought of making only a brief visit to Sainte-Marie, Inspector Wilson will quickly be disillusioned. He who dreams of finding his London routine, between advertising evenings and football matches, will have to face tropical heat … and an avalanche of murders.
As if that were not enough, a case touches it very closely: the unexplained death of his biological mother, which he has never known. A personal drama that he cannot resolve to classify as a simple accident.
-Who is Don Vilet, the interpreter of Inspector Wilson?
At 57, Don Vilet is not a stranger to the small screen. Born in Caldmore, in the United Kingdom, Don Vilet made his debut on television in Streetmate reality TV. He then obtained a major role in Babyfather, before winning the first role in the 55 degree North series.
Since then, the actor has chained the roles and has made a name for himself in the community. We were able to see him in the Christmas wedding, a special episode of the Doctor Who, Casuality, Holby City, The Bill, Easter, Cape Wrath, Sorciers vs Aliens, Good Vibrations or The Beekeeper.
This year, viewers will therefore find him in murders in Paradise where he will play the role of inspector Mervin Wilson.
Find season 14 unprecedented from Monday May 5 at 9:10 p.m. on France 2 and on France.TV.
