A founding work in the history of music
The film Pink Floyd : Live At Pompeii offer a look at the group Before its global celebrityand taking into account the unique circumstances of the concert.
The decor is indeed stunning : it is the former Roman amphitheater of Pompeii, in Italy. The group was playing a typical concert there of this period of their career, without any audiences, with the exception of the shooting team.
In a press release, we can read: “Pink Floyd at Pompeii is prior to the release of ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’. The film documents the activities of Pink Floyd before they become giants of album rankings on both sides of the Atlantic – where their music is still celebrated today.”
