Mobilizing thousands of Internet users, the blogger Aqababe embarked on an investigation into the traces of Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès, who has disappeared since 2011, and claims to have found it. This Monday, April 28, the Nantes prosecutor denies.
“No factual element”. After an influencer announced that he has located in Asia Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès, who has been missing since 2011 after the death of his wife and children in Nantes (Loire-Atlantique), the prosecution denies and indicates this Monday, April 28 that this assertion could not be proven.
“Since April 18 (April), 2025, has been circulating, in the media and on social networks, a certain number of information according to which Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès was located,” he wrote in a press release.
“Contrary to what can be indicated on this occasion, to date, no factual and verifiable element has not been brought to the attention of the Nantes jurisdiction, any more than to the police services seized, by anyone, and being able to attest to the reality of this information”, reacts the prosecutor Antoine Leroy.
With RTL, the blogger in question, Aqababe, replied by declaring that if justice could not verify his statements, it is because he has not yet transmitted to the prosecution. “We are on 3.3GB of data, a week of hunt, no sleep. I need to prepare everything and I will transmit to them,” he said with our colleagues.

On April 18, the influencer Aqababe, followed on Instagram by more than a million people, launched on his social networks a channel entitled “Let’s find XDDL”, calling for his subscribers to investigate with him on the disappearance of the father. The latter was vanished in 2011, suspected of having killed his wife, four children and their dog in Nantes (Loire-Atlantique).
“It started with a joke with my lawyer. He told me ‘you have so much a large network that you would be able to find Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès,” said the influencer with BFMTV. “I said to myself, ‘It’s so good idea, Let’s Go’.”
According to a press release released by the blogger on Sunday, more than 370,000 people joined the canal and thousands of Internet users sent testimonies to a dedicated email address.
A few days later, Aqababe said that he had found the trace of Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès. Photo of a man in front of a poster on which we distinguish in Japanese in support, he maintains that the latter is in Asia.
In his press release, written with his lawyer, the blogger indicates that he had never wanted to “replace the work of the investigators”, but prides himself on having “closed” a 14 -year -old affair. What the Nantes prosecutor denies this Monday.
