Affected by acute leukemia diagnosed in October 2017, as it approaches 17 years, the Plouzanéen Thomas Frappier entered this fight for more than six years. He finally got out of it, thanks to the unconditional support of his parents, his family, his friends … and thanks to the writing. “From the start of the disease, I wanted to write, to note what I was going through and felt”.
Invited to the TV show “La Boîte à Secrets”
He remembers in particular a striking episode: “In October 2019, we are invited, my parents, my sister Léa and me, to a television program,” La Box à Secrets “, and met the singer Marc Lavoine and Abdel Aïssou, co -founders of the association Le Collectif with Raymond Domenech, former coach of the French football team”.
The first child in Brittany to benefit from a connected satchel
This is how he discovers the collective, which makes available to sick children with a connected satchel in order to allow them to take the courses and to interact from the hospital or at home. Thomas Frappier is the first child to benefit from it in Brittany. “By allowing me to be in contact with my teachers and my class friends, the connected satchel took me out of isolation and changed my way of seeing my schooling.”
“My fights, my victories”, a modest testimony book
In six years, the young man has written a lot, “too much to make a summary of it”. He called on the Brest biographer Anne Guégant to structure and co -write the book “Leukemia, my fights, my victories” with the help of his mother, Emmanuelle Frappier. It is a modest testimony book: “We have put some tips there to help people who are in front of the disease,” he said. “This book was released in self -publishing, to make sure that all of the earnings return to the association well.”
In February 2024, Thomas Frappier “finally stopped all treatments and resumed a normal life”. He lives and works in Plouzané. His connected companion was attributed to another child.
