It is an impressive show attended by the walkers on the edge of the Meuse, especially near Sclayn (Andenne) this morning. Different services (police, specialized technical services and SPW, in particular) have exhumated five wrecks of vehicles, between Andenne and Namur. These vehicles, including a Volvo V40 drafted in Sclayn, had been spotted in the Meuse by teams responsible for probe the river. As a reminder, the SPW must ensure the navigability of the Meuse and must regularly request the recovery of vehicles presenting a risk for boats.
Police services then carry out research to identify the vehicles found and to know their history as well as the cause of their presence in the watercourse (accident, criminal file, insurance fraud, etc.). Thanks to the chassis number and any other indices, sought -after vehicles are thus identified. Surveys can also be completed or relaunched. The Volvo drafted this morning in Sclayn, for example, was wanted by the police since acts committed in 2014.
