- After the formal speech by the dean of the legislature, the UDC Damien Vannay, the new elected president of the general council, the PLR Thomas Birbaum, took up the torch and began a legislature which will last four years.
The 2025-2028 legislature started Monday evening in Collombey-Muraz. The constitutive session of the general council made it possible to know the name of the new president of the legislature. This is PLR Thomas Birbaum.

The elected officials present in the Charmaie room voted for Thomas Birbaum as president. The PLR elected official collected 27 of the 42 votes, ahead of the UDC Guillaume Vanay. The Chablaisien thus takes over from the centrist José Sotillo.
At the end of this first session of the year, the new president of the general council reconsidered his election for the next four years. Thomas Birbaum.
Note that during this first session where the goal was to appoint the various elected officials to the key positions of this general council, no candidate was presented for the position of secretary. After the refusal of a point of order to adjourn this item to the following session, a non-candidate was elected, before directly resigning from his new position. Until further notice, the vice-president of the general council will occupy the position of secretary.
