“The eye of our photographer”. This is the new exhibition of our photographer Philippe Trias. Since 2023, he has offered a photo from his collection every week. Very demanding in his work, this photo is never chosen at random. When writing the Progresswe often hear him say that he “has not yet found his photo of the week”, even though he has multiplied the reports in the field, alongside journalists! More than 100,000 of his photos which are indexed in our archives are often reused by the group’s other titles and press photo agencies like Maxppp. But he is always looking for the beautiful image.

Tell a story

For his section, which allows him to highlight his talent and explain how he works, the image must be perfect (even if the editorial team finds them all beautiful). It also has to tell a story. In this collection that he has chosen to exhibit, there is a lot of poetry. A small booklet has been published to understand the secrets of each photo and understand what the photographer wanted to express.

Since January 2023, several exhibitions have taken place in our premises. More than 1,000 people came to discover the fruit of his work. Because it is more important than ever to remember that despite the advent of smartphones and applications like Instagram, we cannot improvise as photographers. And even less press photographer.

“The photographer’s eye”, new exhibition of photographs by Philippe Trias, photographer of Le Progrès. Every day except Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Le Progrès, 5 rue Pasteur, Lons-le-Saunier.
