Françoise Hardy died on June 11 at the age of 80. It was her son Thomas Dutronc who announced his mother’s death on social networks. “Mom is gone…”, he wrote. For several years, the singer and yéyés icon suffered from cancer of the lymphatic system. The artist had mentioned the excruciating painworn out by his illness on a daily basis. She was also in favor of euthanasia and had challenged Emmanuel Macron in an open letter last December. This Thursday, June 20, those close to Françoise Hardy gathered at the crematorium of the Père-Lachaise cemetery to pay her last respects. Thomas Dutronc and Jacques Dutronc also respected his last wishes. They held a funeral “in privacy and without religious ceremony.

“This homage to Dunkirk is quite funny”

This Sunday, June 23, Thomas Dutronc spoke about the tributes paid to his mother by loved ones. “It’s very moving for me and my family to see all these tributes everywhere…”, he explained. The singer then told an anecdote about Française Hardy. “My mother had a little enough of this song ‘All the boys and girls’ we constantly talked to her about, and we get it!”, he admitted. And to continue: “This tribute to the carillon in Dunkirk is quite funny“.
