Sad news for fans of the series Hawaii 5-0. This Thursday, June 20, Taylor Wilythe interpreter of Kamekona in the American television series, died at the age of 56. For the moment, the causes of the actor’s death have not yet been revealed. A painful loss which was announced by a presenter from local media KITV in Hawaii.

On Instagram, the television producer Peter Lenkov paid tribute to Taylor Wily by posting a photo of them. “I am devastated. My heart is broken. I’ll post how I feel later. It’s just too hard for me right now.” he wrote in the caption.

In another publication, Peter Lenkov shared a moving text in which he recounts their meeting. “T, as I told you several times, I fell in love with you from the first hearing. You arrived with a towel on your head to mop up the sweat and I was won over. With your charm, you convinced me to make you a recurring character in the series and in my life. You were family. And I’m going to miss you every day, brother”, he confided.

When we spoke last week, we laughed about how you were right from day one. 5-0 was our dream job. And I was so lucky that we could both share this magic.” he added.

Taylor Wily, real name Teila Tulo, is from Honolulu, Hawaii, and of Samoan descent. Born June 14, 1968, he quickly became passionate about sumo wrestlingwhich he started at the end of the 1980s. It was in the mid-2000s that he took his first steps in the world of cinema by landing a leading role in the film Without Sarah, nothing is going well by Jason Segel.

He joins the team of the hit series Hawaii 5-0 in 2010 where he played the character of the informant Kamekona. He appeared in 171 episodes. On the private side, the sumo wrestler was married to Halona and father of two children.
