Attempted burglary at Anne-Sophie Lapix’s 16th arrondissement mansion in Paris: three suspects arrested

The investigation into one of the burglaries targeting Anne-Sophie Lapix’s apartment in the 16th arrondissement of Paris continues. And this Wednesday, June 19, 2024, our colleagues from Parisian revealed new information.

The investigation continues

The Parisian investigating judge in charge of the investigations is still looking for the person calling himself “Bin Laden”. The man in question is suspected of being the sponsor of the attempted home-jacking of which the France 2 journalist was the victim on the night of Saturday January 20 to Sunday January 21, 2024. And this Tuesday, “she had two men known to the police removed from prison for around thirty cases and had a third suspect arrested as part of this judicial investigation opened for attempted theft by an organized gang with a weapon and association with criminals“, writing The Parisian.

Recall of facts

Remember that on the night of January 20 to 21, around 3:50 a.m., four men tried to break into the mansion of Arthur Sadoun’s wife. Police officers from the Anti-Crime Brigade, who were monitoring the area after the first attempt, saw a suspicious vehicle arriving. Five individuals, whose faces were masked with hoods and scarves, got out and climbed the entrance gate of the mansion.

But, as they tried to force the door, their plans were turned upside down because of one of Anne-Sophie Lapix’s sons. “My son is a hero, because he was the one who put the thieves to flight, with great composure“, revealed the presenter of the France 2 news at the Sunday Tribune. They therefore fled and were arrested shortly after, at Place de Warsaw. The five men, aged 17 to 25, had all the equipment needed to kidnap a family, namely two pairs of latex gloves, hoods, a screwdriver, an adhesive roller and a demilitarized Smith and Wesson 38 caliber revolver.

Anne-Sophie Lapix had already been the target of criminals. On January 17, the beautiful 52-year-old blonde surprised a man forcing her front door with a crowbar. And on February 29, she alerted the police around 10 p.m. after seeing signs of a break-in on a window in her bedroom.
