Jean-Pierre Boyer’s songs were essential for lovers a few years ago. The Reunion artist has nearly 130 compositions.

His artistic career began in earnest in 1980.”I have 135 titles to my credit that I have written, both words and music.” Her first single was “ca ti fille là less l’est pu capable”.

“My second 45 that really took off in Reunion was the song “reviens je t’aime””, continues Jean-Pierre Boyer.

At 14-15 years old, he formed an orchestra at Les Camélias with friends, “we sang at wedding parties and we were the opening act for big groups.”

Life for him was not always easy. “People need to know that I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth. I made the book from the can to the limelight to show my artistic and family journey. I tell my whole life there. My mother helped us a lot on her own and without dad I left Reunion in 1972, I was 19 years old. “

Jean-Louis, his youngest brother, had an accident in a leisure center and was left paralyzed for life. Jean-Pierre and his mother had to leave for mainland France with Jean-Louis so that the latter could receive care. “We left and it changed our lives. This is where we find the strength to surface. It’s not easy, you have to be strong in the head”, adds the singer.

In Paris, he had meetings and concerts with personalities from the world of music. “These are beautiful, unforgettable memories,” he comments.

It’s 2024, and the singer continues to sing from the height of his 44-year career. “I’d rather move than sit still, I don’t want it to end. “
