The “prince of pop” was arrested by the police for drunk driving. He will appear in court on July 26, by videoconference.

As Reuters reports, the police in Sag Harbor, a town located in the Hamptons, where Justin Timberlake was reportedly arrested, were unable to officially comment on the event. But according to a representative of the police cited by People , the 43-year-old singer was heading to a friend’s home after dinner at the American Hotel. “No one was injured,” says the tabloid’s source.

“His eyes were bloodshot”

According to court documents viewed by CBS, Justin Timberlake was stopped by an officer around 12:30 a.m. after running through a stop sign at Madison Street and Jermain Avenue in Sag Harbor.

The officer in charge of the check declared that the star was “intoxicated”: “His eyes were bloodshot and glassy, ​​a strong odor of alcoholic beverage emanated from his breath,” the police officer said in his statement. , adding that the alcohol tests carried out on Jessica Biel’s husband had been bad. Facing the police, Justin Timberlake would have defended himself by trying to minimize the situation: “I drank a martini and followed my friends home.”

Justin Timberlake is currently on tour promoting his sixth and latest album, Everything I Thought It Was, released on March 15. He is expected on June 21 and 22 for two concerts in Chicago and two others in New York a few days later, according to his website.
