When you run a business, it is not always easy to recover from the shock of a deliberately broken window, in the middle of a Sunday afternoon, without the support of those around you and a great outpouring of solidarity. This mishap happened to Clémentine Manuel, who opened Vitamine C, her jewelry creation workshop on rue Lafayette, in Landerneau. “It’s difficult, because I’ve only been here for two years, the studio is still a baby, not very well known.” Since September 29, 2024, it is therefore a plywood panel which hides its window, which two neighbors from Ateliers Lafayette, Sylvie Trouvé and Lucie Marcillat, have decided, out of solidarity, to decorate. Embellishing their neighbor’s temporary window with their know-how and a pretty portrait of a woman.

Solidarity wave

“This is a small neighborhood. In the street, everyone knows each other. The girls suggested I do a real fresco.” Enough to put a smile back on your face while waiting for the workshop to find a brand new window and its brightness. This very new work is only the last link in a lovely chain of solidarity. “In the process, a great wave of traders came to give me their support, offering to help me,” underlines the jewelry designer, who would also like to thank the technical services of the City of Landerneau, who intervened immediately broken glass to install plywood and secure the workshop. “Shows, from something a little serious, we can learn a great lesson in solidarity.”
