Niko is a photographer in Pélissanne. For several months now, you can see his studio located on rue Eugène-Pelletan. Passionate about this art, his photographs resemble him, they are full of sensitivity and creativity. He loves taking portraits and during an exchange with his sister, who was aware of Pink October, the idea came up to create an exhibition.

The objective is quickly found, the new hospital which will soon be built in Salon-de-Provence must be equipped with a mammograph, the cost of which is around 260,000 euros. This is why he had the idea of having around a hundred women pose for an exhibition in Pélissanne, but also in Salon-de-Provence.

“The project is strong”

The challenge is then launched! He offers to photograph topless women. They are young, not so young, known or not, women affected by the disease, or simply engaged in this action, they have been coming for several days to pose for the good cause. Many women responded to his call but he still has a few portraits left to reach the hundred photos planned. The models pose naked in the attitude that suits them best. “I was a little intimidated, it’s very intimate, but the project is strong so I did it!“, explains one of the participants in this project. Others did not hesitate at all. “It’s a great project, I’m happy to be involved in this action.”

“Je photography by passion, I love taking portraits, and it is really an opportunity to show that each woman expresses her own sensitivity in this way. I also notice that it brings a smile to everyone around us.“, explains Niko.

During this exhibition we will also be able to discover photos of men. Because if breast cancer is rare among them, they can also be affected. Less than 1% of all breast cancers affect men. However, it is important that they know that they may be affected so as not to ignore the symptoms.

The exhibition will take place this Friday, October 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the Reversat room then in Salon-de-Provence on the occasion of La Salonaise, a race for the benefit of Pink October. On this occasion, the donations made will be used to purchase the hospital’s mammograph. A QR code will also be offered to facilitate donations.
