It was his daughter Quincy who announced the sad news. Dabney Coleman, 92-year-old American actor, died this Thursday, May 16, 2024. The actor was best known for his roles in the films “Tootsie” (where he played director Ron Carlisle) and “9 to 5” (where he played the boss of Jane Fonda’s characters, Dolly Parton and Lily Tomlin).
Throughout his film career, Dabney Coleman has participated in around fifty films. We saw him notably in “The Tower of Hell”, “The Muppets in Manhattan”, “Stuart Little”, “Cloack and Dagger” and “You’ve Got Mail”. His last role for the big screen dates back to 2016, in the feature film “The exception to the rule”.

The actor was also present on television. In the 1980s, he was nominated for Emmy Awards and Golden Globes for his role in the series “Buffalo Bill”. He then received an Emmy in 1987 for “Sworn to Silence” and a Golden Globe, a year later, for “The Slap Maxwell Story”. His last role for television dates back to 2019 in the series “Yellowstone”, where he had a brief appearance. From 2010 to 2011, he had a more recurring role in the series “Boardwalk Empire”.
In 2014, Dabney Coleman inscribed his name on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Ten years later, a star passed away, at the age of 92.
