For this new edition of the Met Gala, the French stars made a strong impression. Aya Nakamura shone on the red carpet with her slit Balmain dress, Isabelle Huppert played the resplendent bride, while Léna Mafhouf surprised everyone with her sublime Schiaparelli bustier adorned with XXL flowers.
But the one the photographers were all waiting for was Rihanna. And for good reason, at each of his visits to the Met Gala, the interpreter of Man Down caused a sensation alongside rapper Asap Rocky. But this year, Rihanna and her partner did not make the trip.
According to magazine information People, the 36-year-old artist is currently suffering from the flu which prevents her from honoring this appointment which is so important to her. An absence which created general surprise, especially since the couple had been seen this weekend in a Puma pop-up store in Miami.

A few days ago, Rihanna declared that she would wear an outfit “very simple“, according to our colleagues at the magazine Extra. Unfortunately, we will never know what the artist planned to wear. But one thing is certain, with Rihanna, simplicity is rarely there. Remember, in 2015, the world-famous artist opted for a colorful and spectacular look: an orange coat from Guo Pei, with an incredible train. Just like last year, when she was pregnant with her second child, Rihanna took the steps in a breathtaking white dress by Valentino, with a gigantic cape covered in camellia flowers.

Over time, the Met Gala has become THE fashion event of the year. And who says fashion show, says sophisticated looks. This year again, the stars hit the red carpet in breathtaking outfits, enough to steal the show from Rihanna.
For this new edition, the theme of the evening was entitled “Garden of Time”. For her first Met Gala, singer Tyla made a strong impression by opting for a Balmain dress, created especially for the occasion by Olivier Rousteing, also present at the event. The strapless dress with a mermaid train was sculpted from a cast of her body, and is made entirely of sand and microcrystal studs.
The dress being extremely fragile, Tyla had to be carried on the steps of the Met Gala so as not to damage it. A spectacular arrival which was immortalized by photographers, as shown in this video.
Interviewed by the magazine Voguethe artistic director of Balmain declared: “The idea of sculpting a garment from something as ephemeral as sand ignited my imagination and I couldn’t be happier with the end result.”
In addition to this incredible dress, Tyla carried an hourglass-shaped bag from the same fashion house, to recall the “Garden of Time” theme. A first participation in the Met Gala that will not be forgotten!
