“Show that it’s very modern”

On Saturday afternoon, the artist Renée Malaval will give a conference entitled “Street and Mosaic”. The latter will introduce the general theme of the exhibition: “Urban mosaic”. Charlie Madigon, administrative and communications assistant for the 3R association, emphasizes that “the objective is to make the link between street art and mosaic.”

Sunday, October 6, at 11 a.m., the opening of the English artist Martin Cheek is planned, in the Saint-Pierre committee room, rue aux Jews. The latter will also exhibit at the Stained Glass Gallery, from October 15 to November 10: “These are almost two different exhibitions with these two rooms. It will be very interesting, he is someone very unusual who you really have to meet. “

A “perennial, resistant, eternal” art, connected to the spiritual

“Urban mosaic”, a very atypical choice of theme. Linking an ancestral art like mosaic to very contemporary street creation almost seems like a mission impossible.

However, that is the whole objective of these International Meetings, to bring together two worlds that are very different at first glance, but which have more in common than it seems.

“This is our hobby horse, to promote contemporary mosaic and show that it is very modern, that it can be adapted to a young audience or even to young artists”
