Alec Baldwin hasn’t drunk alcohol in almost 40 years

During an appearance in an episode of the podcast Our Way with Paul Anka and Skip BronsonAlec Baldwin opened up about his journey to sobriety.

“I don’t talk about it much,” he told the podcast hosts on May 1. “I talk about it from time to time when it makes sense. I have been sober for 39 years. I got sober on February 23, 1985.”

“I had a major problem every day for two years,” the actor continued. Not that easy. “I think I snorted cocaine into unconsciousness. We get used to it. What I mean is, cocaine was like coffee back then. Everyone took it all day. »

The 66-year-old star then admitted that she developed a heavy drinking habit shortly after quitting the drug.

“Because I stopped doing drugs, my drinking increased,” he said. “We tell you this is going to happen. And that’s what happened. I just started drinking.”

The actor and comedian added that despite this success, he still missed alcohol.

“What I miss is drinking,” he admitted. “I don’t miss drugs at all. But I miss alcohol.”

Alec Baldwin still found another way to have a good time.

“New York relaxes me,” he said during the episode. “I walk around and see sides of the city I’ve never seen before. I look at a building and I think, “My God, I never noticed that about that building, those doors.” I have lunch and coffee with my friends.”
