Saint-Gaudens. “Intimate Pyrenees” by Julien Argyriades

Julien got into the game of photography two years ago following a long practice of animal tracking. It became for him the way of sharing his inevitably solitary experiences. “I go to remote territories, difficult to access, where man has pushed back wild life. There are still preserved areas in the Pyrenees. My photos invite you there for a discreet immersion in the hope of sharing my emotions with you.

My common thread is the bear. I follow the clues, his droppings and footprints, etc. I then come across a lot of animals, mainly deer. In November, I will release a book “Intimate Pyrenees” on the quest for the bear with my photos and the history of the hides. I share my passion for the bear and my knowledge, the search for clues revealing its passage, its mysterious presence and the explanation of its behavior. The Pyrenees still have spaces where the wild is preserved and I want to believe that they will remain so for a long time.”

This exhibition can be seen until October 31 at the Galerie de l’Office de Tourisme.2 rue Thiers in Saint-Gaudens – 05 61 94 77 61 –
