Saturday, in the show “Quelle époque” on 2, the comedian returned, with sharp jokes as he is used to, on the Kendji Girac affair. Before being “serious for two seconds” and saying all the good things he thinks of the singer.

We know Philippe Caverivière, who officiates every morning on RTL and on Saturday evenings in the show “Quelle époque!” from France 2, for his often daring, even acerbic, jokes on current events. And for good reason, the comedian has experience: he was once the author of the chronicles of the imitator Nicolas Canteloup.

Saturday evening, in Léa Salamé’s show, obviously, he returned to the affair which mobilized the media all week: the bullet wound of singer Kendji Girac. The investigation revealed that the artist, under the influence of alcohol and drugs, had shot himself “to simulate suicide”in the words of the public prosecutor of Mont-de-Marsan, against the backdrop of a marital dispute.

The awning costs €115

Philippe Caverivière first made the audience present on set laugh by ironically saying: “It’s further proof that women simulate better than men. Normally, when you simulate, you don’t give a damn all over the place”he said before qualifying the gunshot wound to Kendji Girac’s chest, since the ammunition passed close to the heart. “On the other hand, the awning of the caravan behind, it costs €115 to change”. New laughter from the audience. He continues his sketch, mocking the gypsy community or mentioning the Palmade affair.

“We will continue to love him”

But, to everyone’s surprise, the comedian changed his tone, to “be serious for two seconds”. A beautiful tribute to Kendji Girac followed: “It’s been a week since we heard about Kendji firearms, Kendji alcohol, Kendji depression… I know Kendji a little and he’s Mr. Yes when we ask him for a service for children, as for pediatric cancers. Last year, there was a little one who had a little something extra, a little Down syndrome girl, Capucine, who was fighting cancer. I called Kendji and his bodyguard and I said to him: ‘Can you receive her?’ There are very few artists who do that. And look”, he said with emotion, then asking the production to broadcast photos of the singer and the little girl. He pursues : “The Kendji that we know and love. He’s an amazing guy and he was very lucky not to shoot himself in the heart because he has a very big heart. Kendji will come back and we will continue to love him.”

Applause from the audience. A sequence which certainly pleased the artist, if he saw it from his hospital bed, where until then he had mainly heard numerous criticisms of his lifestyle and his actions.
