Frank Sinatra played by Leonardo DiCaprio in a Scorsese biopic?

Leonardo DiCaprio could play Frank Sinatra.

It would have a certain allure.

It will not have escaped your attention, biopics are in fashion. Freddy Mercury got his, Ray Charles too, James Brown, we’re waiting for Amy Winehouse’s to come out etc, etc. And, good news, a film project on the life of Frank Sinatra would be under study. But be careful, not by just anyone. Indeed, Martin Scorsese would be the director and Leonardo DiCaprio would take on the artist’s features for this great fresco! Jennifer Lawrence is also being considered for a role in this blockbuster.

For the moment, the film is only at the project stage since the director is reportedly working in parallel on an adaptation of the life of Jesus. But above all, Tina Sinatra, the legendary crooner’s daughter, controls her father’s estate and has yet to give her blessing to the film. Still, that didn’t stop Scorsese from assembling a crazy cast that would see his frequent collaborator Leonardo DiCaprio play the singer and Jennifer Lawrence play his second wife, actress Ava Gardner, according to multiple sources.

We remember that it was Gardner who “broke” Sinatra’s marriage to Barbato, Tina’s mother. Starring two of the biggest movie stars on the planet, the film is already attracting interest from major studios and platforms. Apple, which financed the “Flower Moon” project to the tune of $215 million, would like to stay in business with Scorsese, but Sony would be the favorite to win the deal.

If ever the feature film were to see the light of day, there is no doubt that the Oscars would not be far away, particularly for Leonardo DiCaprio.
