Since Monday, his name has been on everyone’s lips, from discussions around artificial intelligence to those on the European economy, including the war in Ukraine and the truce in the Middle East. Thursday afternoon, here he is finally speaking. In a packed room even though he spoke remotely, Donald Trump delivered an intense speech to the 3,000 participants of the World Economic Forum in Davos. We expected him on economic issues of course, and he did not disappoint, but the new American president also surprised. The governors of Arkansas and Kentucky who spoke a few minutes before him had said: “We are the show before the show.” In fact, we weren’t bored.
