Until a week ago, the name of Zeinab Bancé was little known in Senegal. But since Tuesday, her photo has been circulating everywhere, where she proudly displays her chef's outfit.
Zeinab Bancé has embarked on an ambitious challenge: to break the record for the longest cooking session in the world and enter her name in the Guinness World Records. To do this, she must cook for 120 hours, or almost 5 days without interruption. She has started preparing 15,000 dishes since Tuesday the 17th.
“I like challenges and I love cooking. I said to myself: why not combine the two and surpass the current record which is 119 hours and 57 minutes? » explains Mélanie Céline Zeinab Bancé to the Brut team, who followed her during the preparations for her culinary marathon.
Its objective: to export Ivorian cuisine
This challenge, which she calls the “CAN of cuisine”, aims to highlight the cultural and gastronomic wealth of Côte d'Ivoire on the international stage.
For Zeinab Bancé, this record represents much more than a simple personal achievement. During these five days, she plans to cook 293 traditional Ivorian dishes, which she intends for families in difficulty. Among these dishes, attiéké, an emblematic dish of Ivory Coast, will hold an important place, as she told the press.
At the Agora of Koumassi, where the event is held, his fellow citizens came in large numbers to encourage him. Even Ivorian artists mobilized to give him their support.
Mélanie Céline Zeinab Bancé, chef, entrepreneur, interior designer and event organizer, wishes to write this feat in history while promoting Ivorian gastronomy on a global scale.
Only a few dozen minutes left to see her shine in the world record book.
