Donald Trump said Tuesday that former Republican elected official Liz Cheney could have “big problems” after the publication of a report by Trumpist elected officials accusing her of witness tampering, a new illustration of the Republican’s threats towards his rivals before his return to power.

“Liz Cheney could be in big trouble based on evidence obtained by the subcommittee which states that ‘numerous federal laws were violated by Liz Cheney’ and that ‘these violations should be investigated by the FBI “, wrote Donald Trump on his Truth Social platform, about one of his fiercest opponents.
The future American president’s statements are just another example of his stated desire to launch proceedings against those he perceives as his political enemies once he returns to the White House on January 20.

When the Republicans regained the majority in the lower house of Congress in 2022, a handful of Trumpist elected officials set up a subcommittee responsible for investigating “the failures and politicization of the committee on January 6” .
A way of returning the favor to the Democrats with regard to this commission – of which Liz Cheney was vice-president – which damned Donald Trump for his role in the assault on the Capitol on January 6, 2021.
The report published Tuesday by this subcommittee accuses the former Republican elected official of witness tampering, for having, according to them, been in collusion with a former official of the Trump administration who testified against the Republican before the commission on January 6 .
In his publication on Truth Social on Wednesday, Donald Trump thanked the elected Republican head of the subcommittee, Barry Loudermilk, “for a job well done.”
