A suspect convicted of computer hacking, who seems to have resale in his heart, found nothing better to do than to put his electronic bracelet up for sale on an online sales site.
After serving a sentence at home under an electronic bracelet, the man from Mariemont, in the Belgian province of Hainaut, had the idea of offering the surveillance equipment for sale on Marketplace, not without boasting about it on the social networks.
But very quickly, the careless seller who put the bracelet belonging to the justice system up for sale for the equivalent of $450 was apprehended by police on Wednesday, after an investigation by the prosecution, Belgian public broadcaster RTBF reported.
“Anyone who is guilty of such acts will be systematically prosecuted before the criminal court, as long as it involves a serious attack on public interest and security,” indicated the Charleroi public prosecutor’s office. , cited by the Belgian media.
Presented before the investigating judge, the suspect was charged with breach of trust and released on conditions, but he will now have to wear another electronic bracelet, a tool which constitutes an alternative to a prison sentence or preventive detention.
