A kitchen fire broke out this Friday at 10:11 a.m. in an apartment on the third floor of one of the tallest residential buildings in Yverdon. The Chaînettes tower has 14 floors. The SDIS du Nord Vaudois deployed a team from the inside, which put out the flames, as well as a large ladder. The fire partially damaged the accommodation. The occupant was able to escape under his own power and was not injured.

When firefighters arrived, a plume of smoke was coming out of the windows. The fumes which had reached the upper floor were ventilated. The building was not evacuated. Residents living higher up in the tower watched the intervention from their balconies.
