Donald Trump rules out running again in 2028 if he loses US presidential election

Donald Trump will not run again in 2028 if he is defeated in the 2024 presidential election, he announced on September 22.

“No, I don’t see myself there, I don’t see myself there,” the 78-year-old Republican candidate said on the show Full Measure. “I can’t imagine that at all,” added the former president. “I think that will be all.”

Third application

The elderly former Republican president, who will face Kamala Harris in November, is making his third bid for the US presidency, after winning in 2016 and losing in 2020.

The billionaire said he hoped “a success” at the polls on November 5, facing Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, as reported by AFP.

Since the dramatic withdrawal of President Joe Biden from the race, who was struggling in the polls, the outcome of the presidential election is more uncertain than ever. Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are neck and neck in several of the states where everything will probably be decided.

Notably, Donald Trump, who never acknowledged his defeat to Joe Biden in 2020, has refused several times in recent months to commit to unconditionally recognizing the result of the November election.
