Meta, owner of Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram, plans to invest nearly $ 65 billion in artificial intelligence projects in 2025, announced its CEO, Mark Zuckerberg.
These projects will mainly concern the construction of a new giant data center and the increase in hiring in AI teams, he said on Friday in a post on Facebook.
This data center will be “so large that it would cover an important part of Manhattan,” said Zuckerberg.
Meta plans to put around a gigawatt of calculation power online in 2025 and should end the year with more than 1.3 million graphic processing units, he added.

Zuckerberg’s announcement comes two days after Optai, Softbank and Oracle announced a joint venture of $ 100 billion to build data centers and IA infrastructure projects across the United States.
