The bill to increase the price of the ETA from 10 to 16 pounds sterling (approximately 12 to 18 euros) was tabled in Parliament on Thursday for approval. Combined with price increases for other immigration and nationality products and services, the measure is expected to generate £269 million per year (€318 million).
The Home Office, which initiated the bill, clarified that it had accepted that transit passengers would be “temporarily” exempt from these charges and that this exemption would be regularly reviewed.
