Good performance in secondary sector activity in November 2024

The same source notes that this good performance of activity is attributable, mainly, to the production of cotton ginning (>100%), to the manufacture of basic chemical products (+87.1%), to the activities extractives (+4.3%), the manufacture of transport equipment (+67.2%), construction (+2.4%) and “metallurgy and foundry production; manufacturing of metal works” (+23.5%).
However, declines were recorded, in particular, in “production of spinning, weaving and textile finishing” (-31.7%) and in “production and distribution of electricity and gas” (- 5.3%).

In rolling variation over one year, secondary activity also improved (+2.3%), in November 2024, thanks to the performances noted in cotton ginning production (>100% ), the manufacture of basic chemical products (+41.8%), the manufacture of agro-food products (+5.0%), “petroleum refining and coking” (+41.2%), “ metallurgy production and foundry; manufacturing of metal works” (+43.1%) and “rubber and plastic work” (+27.6%).

On the other hand, indicates the Dpee, poor performances were, in particular, noted in extractive activities (-13.3%), “production of spinning, weaving and textile finishing” (-22.3% ) and construction (-8.3%).
