The scenes of angry demonstrations by Sahrawis sequestered in the Tindouf camps, in Algerian territory, follow one another and are similar. The latest took place Thursday January 9 when a group of women from the Laaroussienne tribe unleashed themselves against the vehicle of the so-called “Minister of the Interior” of the pseudo-Rasd. Brahim Bailla comes from the Rguibat Labouihat tribe. His vehicle was parked just in front of the headquarters of the said ministry in Rabouni.
These women, we learn, acted in this way as a sign of protest against the refusal of this official to receive them. They intended to question him about the dismantling, the same day by elements of the Polisario gendarmerie, of their tent, set up in front of the building housing this “ministry”.
The tent served as shelter for this group which was in a sit-in demanding the release of a relative, detained at Dhaibia prison for his involvement in a murder. The separatist elements took advantage of the absence of these women to destroy the tent. In retaliation, they vandalized the “minister’s” vehicle.
At the end of last December, the Tindouf Autonomist Support Forum (Forsatin) indicated that the Tindouf camps had recently been living in total chaos which revealed the collapse of the security system led by the Polisario militias.
This is how gendarmes attacked a family in the Aghouinit district, in the Aousserd camp. The militiamen stormed a tent where members of this family were located, and brutally attacked the women. One of them suffered a broken jaw and another was left with serious abdominal injuries, while the men were forcibly taken to an unknown destination. No explanation for this violent attack against civilians has been given.

In this same camp, unknown individuals set fire to a truck belonging to a Rabouni family against a backdrop of settling scores in camps where insecurity and vendettas between members of opposing tribes are rife.
Another elderly man was kidnapped by armed individuals, due to a dispute over a shipment that allegedly pitted his son against a criminal gang. The man was taken to the Bir Oum Grine region, where he was filmed in a video showing him surrounded by hooded and armed individuals. He begged his family to give the gang members what they asked for in order to save their lives.
These events are taking place while a guilty silence is observed on the Polisario side, coupled with absolute indifference from the “Algerian protector”.
