Christmas lights appeared everywhere on houses in the canton of Jura. Sandrine and Christophe Farine are among the private individuals who spruce up their homes during the holiday season. For five years, the couple has been embellishing their house located just outside Courrendlin, towards Châtillon, with various illuminations and decorations. The interior of the house is also decorated with objects related to Christmas. Everything requires about two months of preparation. The decoration evolves over the years with different additions. In addition to light garlands, the house and its surroundings have a small village of elves in the garden, for example. Sandrine Farine – who works at the village nursery – notes that it all started when her husband stopped running a store in the village. “He took back all the materials he used for Christmas and started decorating the house,” says Sandrine Farine, who specifies that their children also buy, year after year, additional items for their father. The house does not go unnoticed and Sandra Farine points out that “people stop in their cars to take photos”. “There’s a lot of traffic in front of our house,” laughs the Courrendlin resident.

The house of Sandrine and Christophe Farine in Courrendlin is lit from December 1 to January 6, from 5 p.m. to midnight and from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. /fco
