The number of Moroccan nationals ordered to leave one of the countries of the European Union (EU) during the third quarter of 2024 amounted to 7,995 people, or 7.1% of the total foreigners affected by this measure. , according to Eurostat, the statistical body of the European Commission.

Among the nationalities affected by this measure during the same period, Moroccans are in second position behind Algerians (10,705 people and 9.5% of the total). The top 5 is completed by Syrians (7,385 people, 6.6%), followed by Turks (6,420 people, 5.7%) and Afghans (5,585 people, 5%).

In this group, Moroccan nationals awaiting expulsion were the only ones to see their number decrease compared to the previous quarter, precisely by 3.2%. In contrast, that of Algerians recorded the largest increase (+35.2%), higher than that of the number of Syrians (+32.1%), Afghans (+9.2%) and Turks. (+8.5%).

Compared to the 3rd quarter of 2023, the number of Moroccans having to leave the EU fell even more significantly, falling by 9%. The number of Afghan and Syrian nationals also declined (by 13.6% and 8% respectively), but not that of Algerians, which jumped by 46.7%.

Overall, during the 3rd quarter of 2024, 112,335 third-country citizens were ordered to leave an EU country, up 0.3% compared to the previous quarter and 3.9% compared to the same period of 2023. is the EU country that has issued the highest number of orders to leave the territory (27.4% of the total), followed by Germany (12.2%), Spain (12.1%), Greece (6.6%) and Italy (6.3%).
