We will arrive in a few days at the time of the 2024 assessment.
What to remember?
Donald Trump’s victory obviously marked the year. It was not an electoral accident. Rather, it signals a change of times. Those who still curse it should now understand it.
Trump
Against the media, academic and technocratic oligarchy, Trump won.
But unlike his victory in 2016, which surprised everyone, this time he is ready to exercise power, for better or for worse.
The victory of 2016 was that of opposition populism, that of 2024 is that of government populism, which can also be called national-conservatism.
Elsewhere in the West, populist or national-conservative ideas are also advancing.
Societies tend to adopt them or at least give them a chance, following the disaster caused by globalist and technocratic progressivism over the past 30 years.
The public finance crisis is hitting hard on companies that believed they could take on debt without ever paying the price.
Today, the masked socialism that we call the “welfare state” and which claims to be “social justice” is collapsing or on the verge of collapsing. The institutional complex combining the interests of the bureaucracy and those of the various lobbies living off public money has vampirized the productive forces to the point of delirium. Fiscal theft is required everywhere.
Argentina is currently looking to get out of it. First caricatured, Milei even becomes a source of inspiration for some.
Will Poilievre’s Canada take over?
Likewise, the thoughtless opening of borders has led to a migratory overwhelm which is causing everywhere an identity, security and financial catastrophe.
Will Europe still be European in 50 years? We could also wonder if Quebec will still be Quebecois in 20 years.
The woke revolution, which combines delirium and fanaticism, is also being questioned everywhere.
Certainly, Wokism remains the reference ideology of the dominant classes, who always seek to impose it on the people, but the latter can no longer stand the racialist obsession promoted by the globalized oligarchy, and no longer want to pretend to believe that it is enough for a man to think he is a woman for him to suddenly become one.
Even the Scandinavians are starting to doubt.
Europe
In the United Kingdom, Sweden, Denmark, Italy, France, populist and conservative ideas are progressing. But the system defends itself violently.
Its repressive measures are numerous: censorship in the name of the fight against “hate speech” and “disinformation”, dissolution of militant groups and unnatural electoral alliances to block the coming to power of populists, as we saw in France, and even, as we saw recently in a surprising way, cancellation of elections whose results displease us under false pretexts, as we saw in a disconcerting way in Romania.
The ruling class clings to its privileges as much as it can.
But it is possible that the year 2024 marked the beginning of the fall of the Western technostructure.
