Masculinist influencer Andrew Tate lost a tax fraud trial in the United Kingdom on Wednesday, where a court authorized police to seize more than two million pounds ($3.6 million CAD) from his accounts and those of his brother Tristan.
What appeared to be a “complex financial matrix” was in reality a “simple revenue scam”, the judge at Westminster Crown Court in London said in handing down his ruling.
Andrew and Tristan Tate “engaged in deliberate and long-standing behavior to evade tax”, he ruled.
British police accuse the two brothers of having paid no tax on the 21 million pounds (25.4 million euros) of income they received from internet activities between 2014 and 2022.
She had filed a civil action against Andrew and Tristan Tate, who are in Romania where they are being prosecuted for human trafficking by an organized gang and rape. In this case, the Romanian justice system must decide on Thursday whether or not to hold a trial.
The police will be able to seize two million pounds from seven frozen bank accounts of the two brothers.
“This is not about justice, but a coordinated attack against all those who dare to challenge the system,” denounced Andrew Tate after this judgment.
In a statement, he accused the authorities of “pure and simple theft”. “Speak against the Matrix, and they will come for your freedom, your reputation and your livelihood,” he said again, resuming his classic rhetoric against the authorities.
“Remember the government hates you. Buy bitcoins,” he also wrote on X, where he is followed by more than ten million people.
Sexual exploitation
During the trial in July, the police lawyer referred to a video in which Andrew Tate declared: “When I lived in England, I refused to pay taxes.”
The two brothers “are serial evaders” on taxes and VAT, accused this lawyer, Sarah Clarke. “They brag about it, especially Andrew Tate,” she added.
Andrew Tate, 38, is under house arrest near Bucharest. Tristan Tate, 36, is subject to judicial supervision.
They were arrested in 2022 in Bucharest and spent three months in detention.
The Romanian justice system must make its decision on Thursday on whether or not to hold a trial for trafficking in human beings by an organized gang and rape, after having reported in November “irregularities” in the indictment.
The prosecution suspects them of having duped several women for the purposes of sexual exploitation.
The two brothers are also the subject of accusations of rape and assault in other cases in the United Kingdom.
Former professional kickboxing fighter, Briton Andrew Tate has lived in Romania for several years.
Banned from Instagram and TikTok for misogynistic comments, he shows off his bulging muscles, smokes cigars and fascinates millions of teenagers with his luxury cars. He promotes masculinist theses and gives his advice to men to help them become rich.
