A 6-year-old boy died in his sleep after falling and hitting his head at his school. “Just a bump, nothing serious,” staff told the parents, who launched a fundraiser to build a mosque in honor of little Yaseen.
A tragedy shakes the community of Small Heath, in Birmingham. Muhammad Yaseen Uddin, a 6-year-old boy known as Yaseen, died after being sent home from Marlborough Primary School, where he suffered a head injury, the Daily Mail can reveal.
Last Tuesday, the establishment contacted the child's mother to report a minor injury, described as “a simple bump” and “not serious”, before asking her to come and pick up her son. Reassured by the school's words, the family continued their day without worrying too much.
That same evening, Yaseen, the youngest of five children, nibbled grapes while watching television, then shared a slice of birthday cake with his sister. Before going to bed, he received a dose of liquid paracetamol. However, in the morning, his mother discovered his limp body when she tried to wake him up, even though his father had already left for work. Back at the family home, Simriel Uddin discovered a crowd of police and paramedics outside his house.
Vers the opening of an investigation
Yaseen's body has not yet been returned to his family as tests are underway to determine the cause of his death. His bereaved family is waiting to be able carry out his burial.
“Muhammad Yaseen Uddin, my beautiful, kind and loving 6-year-old son, unfortunately lost his life in a tragic accident,” the father wrote on a GoFundMe page created to finance the construction of a mosque in honor of his child.
The news caused great emotion in the local community, and an investigation could be opened to determine the exact circumstances of this tragedy. The family in pain believes that the school should have seek medical advice after head shock by Yaseen.
