Black September and October! In two months, Hezbollah suffered the most devastating blows in its history. Its military apparatus was severely degraded by an intense Israeli bombing campaign, as powerful as it was remarkably targeted. Its leader, Hassan Nasrallah, was pulverized in his underground headquarters in Beirut on September 27, after more than thirty years of tracking by the Mossad. Part of its staff was decimated by repeated strikes, in its strongholds in the southern suburbs of Beirut, Baalbek and South Lebanon.
