Syrian President Bashar al-Assad promised on Sunday, December 1, to use “strength” to eradicate the “terrorism”reported the official Syrian news agency Sana, after an offensive launched by a coalition of rebel groups led by Islamists in northern Syria. “Terrorism only understands the language of force, and it is with this language that we will break and eliminate it, regardless of its supporters and sponsors”he said in a phone call with an official from Abkhazia, a pro-Russian separatist region of Georgia.
The regime is capable of “defeat the terrorists”assured Bashar al-Assad on Saturday. “Syria continues to defend its stability and territorial integrity in the face of all terrorists and their supporters, and it is capable, with the help of its allies and friends, (…) of eliminating them, whatever the intensity of their attacks”he declared during a telephone call with his Emirati counterpart.
Sunday, theKing Abdullah II of Jordan declared that he stood “alongside” of Syria, affirming its support for “its territorial integrity, sovereignty and stability”. Iran, a close ally of Syria, “strongly supports the army and the government” of this country, Tehran also assured. The United States, accused by Iran of being in maneuver with Israel, blamed the capture of Aleppo on “addiction” from the Syrian regime to Russia and Iran.
