The deceased victim is believed to be the owner of the dog, according to Boston police.
A dog fatally attacked a woman Monday evening and bit two police officers in a neighborhood of Boston, report several American media including ABC News.
Boston police said they responded to a call about a dog attack around 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, and found a woman with serious injuries and an injured man in the Roxbury neighborhood. The woman, whose name has not been released and who is believed to be the owner of the dog, died in hospital.
The animal shot dead by the police
“Obviously, based on what the dog did to both victims, the officers made the decision to neutralize the dog,” Boston Police Deputy Superintendent Paul McLaughlin said Monday evening.
Two police officers were bitten by the dog which rushed at them and one of them shot the animal. Both officers were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Three other dogs were removed from the property by the city.
