All it takes is a gesture, an inappropriate joke. A “joking” email that amuse very little. When advances cross the line into flirting, heaviness sets in and poisons the work climate. Some will dare to speak out and fight against impunity. Many, however, are still walled in silence.

In Switzerland, 15% of employed people say they have been sexually harassed at their workplace in the last twelve months, according to figures from the Federal Office for Equality between Women and Men (BFEG) and the State Secretariat for economy (Seco). Published in 2022, the survey shows that sexual harassment affects women in nine out of ten cases, and that 95% of the perpetrators were men. More recently, last June, a study commissioned by the city of Geneva revealed that 40% of women and 30% of men within the municipal administration were impacted by sexist and sexual harassment.
