According to information from Bild, even if the circumstances of the planned attack remain unclear, the suspect planned to commit “violent action” by killing people with a truck at a Christmas market, according to several conversations intercepted by the authorities. . US intelligence warning
Last spring, the American intelligence service warned the German Federal Criminal Police Office of a potential danger emanating from the suspect in question. Investigators from Schleswig-Holstein took over the case, followed by the Flensburg public prosecutor's office in March.
The public prosecutor of Flensburg, Bernd Winterfeldt, notably confirmed to Bild that the 17-year-old young man was the subject of an investigation for “suspicion of preparing a serious and dangerous act of violence for the state and of conspiracy to commit a criminal act.” An arrest warrant was issued against him.
